Stories from Adults

Advice and Stories for Adults seeking Therapy

A large component of what we do in therapy is work on acceptance, and learning to not feel ashamed about stuttering. To this end kids (and adults) are asked to dictate their therapy stories, which serves not only to practice self disclosure and being comfortable about talking about one's speech and dysfluencies, but also helps serve as a "how to" for those just entering therapy. We find that these stories are beneficial for both the writers and the readers!
